Container Gardening, Organically Grown Salad
Here’s an update of the post I did recently on growing organic salad in a container. That way you can have fresh salad veggies right at your back door any time of year, even if you live in an apartment.
If it’s really cold in your area and you want fresh salad greens over winter, you could try growing them under lights or in a green/glass house.
I live in a temperate climate here in South Australia, so my salad veggies will grow outdoors all year round, as long as I choose varieties that best suit the time of year.
So you can see that my salad greens are quite thickly seeded. It’s been 5.5 weeks since I put in the seed and I’ll be thinning things out a little as we start to eat them from now on. Give it a try, you’ll be well rewarded with fresh, organic greens available at your fingertips.
Happy Organic Gardening, Healthy Living…
