Surplus produce from my Organic Garden
It’s that time of year when there is an abundance of produce from the garden (as you can see from the tomatoes in pics below). So what do you do with it all? Mostly I find a way to use it. I preserve some things, sun dry others, make delicious home-made soups and there’s always pickles, sauce and jam.
My grandma had us all halving apricots and peaches every summer school holidays. Some were sun-dried on a make-shift drying rack (which doubled as a table) and others were preserved in the Vacola. I just love preserved quinces – but that was later in the season.
And if you still find yourself with a surplus, give them to family, friends – anyone who appreciates organically grown food and they will just love you for it.
Happy abundant Organic Gardening,
Julie
