Vegetables we’re already eating from my Organic Garden

Wow, Christmas is sneaking up on me too quickly. There’s so much to do – that’s why I haven’t updated the blog as often as I’d like.

Everyone who visits my place say that my veggie garden must be on steroids or something. But the truth is it’s all about soil preparation, watering when the plants need it, fertilizing every month and a bit of tidying, supporting tomatoes, adding mulch – that sort of thing.

And so the result so far this season is that we are enjoying on our dinner table lettuce, broccoli, radish, zucchini (and giving them to friends), spring onions, capsicum, beetroot, leeks, snow peas, bush beans, rocket, plus all the herbs.

Our first planting of corn is plumping up nicely, so we’ll be crunching into that in the next few days. The tomatoes are soooo close – a good size, but not changing colour. I’m guessing the hot weather we’re getting here will soon change that. I can’t wait to see what I’ve got from the mixed heirloom varieties that I put in this year.

That’s all for now – have pressies to wrap. :-)

Happy Organic Gardening,

Julie
