Autumn Plantings In My Organic Garden

Because of our fairly mild climate here in South Australia we can continue to plant veggies all year round. I’ve been a bit slack in my organic garden lately, but am now getting back on track.

I’ve cleared out all of the finished plants from summer, except for two different varieties of zucchini that are still producing, my capsicums (peppers) that are still holding fruit and a few butternut pumpkin plants that have pumpkins still maturing.

In the picture below you can see a row of peas growing up the support wire on the right hand side.

Next to them I have bok choy that I planted about a month ago. I’ve left the basil growing for the time being, while it’s still delicious.

To the left of them I’ve got rows with broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, with lettuce inter-planted. Just to the rear of these rows, before the center cross timber I have put in a few spinach plants. All this in an area of about 3metres x 1.5metres.

I’ll be planting up the rest of my plot soon and will post pictures then.

Until then,

Happy Organic Gardening, Healthy Living…

Julie
